"For most of my life I have dreaded my cycle, I suffered with horrendous acne, I had crazy cramps that wouldn't allow me to leave bed the first day of my period and I simply wanted nothing to do with any of it. So Like most women I decided to turn to hormonal birth control for "help"...
Knowing what I know now that wasn't real help... the pill was simply masking my symptoms, not allowing me to get to the root cause of what was really creating my hormonal imbalances. Nevertheless I stayed on it for 12 years...
It wasn't until I started to really dive into holistic health and after I had supported my body with whole food based supplements for a whole year that I decided to take the leap and come off birth control. It was a way smoother transition than what I expected!
Now I live my life in sync with my cycle, adjusting how I eat, exercise, run my business and my social life according to the 4 phases of my cycle. I do this out of love to my body and as a return my body has allowed me to thrive in a way I have never thrived before.
Don't get me wrong, I still get cycle signs (aka PMS) from time to time, but now I take it for what it is - my body's way of communicating with me, letting me know what's wrong so that I can take things into my own hands and get back to balance.
